Recognition Matters: Award Nominations are Open
Because Recognition Matters: IAACE Award Nominations Are Now Open
One of my favorite things about the IAACE community is that we genuinely celebrate each other’s successes.
We cheer when students reach their goals. We share ideas, resources, and encouragement. We step up to help one another solve challenges. And every day, across Indiana, adult educators work tirelessly to create opportunities, remove barriers, and change lives.
The truth is, much of that work happens quietly.
It’s the teacher who stays after class to help a struggling student. The advisor who never gives up on a learner. The administrator who finds a way to make things work when resources are stretched thin. The partner who opens doors to new opportunities. The volunteer who shows up because they believe in the mission.
These moments may not make headlines, but they matter.
That’s why recognition matters, too.
Awards aren’t just about plaques, certificates, or a moment on stage. They’re about shining a light on the people and programs making a difference. They’re about sharing success stories, celebrating innovation, and recognizing the dedication that strengthens adult education across Indiana.
A few weeks ago, I wrote about how your work matters. I meant every word.
Now, I’m asking you to help us recognize the people whose work has inspired, supported, and impacted others throughout the year.
Think about the colleagues who make your program stronger.
Think about the partners who help create opportunities for learners.
Think about the leaders who encourage others, the volunteers who give their time, and the educators who show up every day ready to make a difference.
Who comes to mind?
That’s probably someone worth nominating.
As a community, we share a common vision: helping adult learners succeed. We share values of service, opportunity, lifelong learning, and collaboration. Recognizing excellence is one way we honor those values and celebrate the people who bring them to life every day.
IAACE Award Nominations are now officially open, and I hope you’ll take a few minutes to recognize someone who has made an impact.

What Makes a Strong Nomination?
A strong nomination doesn’t have to be long or fancy—it just needs to tell the story of impact.
Share specific examples. Highlight accomplishments. Tell us why this person, program, organization, or partner stands out. Help us understand the difference they have made for students, colleagues, or the adult education community.
And don’t overthink it.
Some of the most deserving people never seek recognition for themselves. Your nomination helps ensure their contributions are seen, appreciated, and celebrated.
Because recognition matters.
Because your work matters.
And because together, we make adult education stronger.
We can’t wait to read your nominations and celebrate the incredible people and programs that make the IAACE community so special.
Happy nominating!
Jenn
