Meet Your Executive Committee:
Katie Walton, President Katie Walton steps into the role of President with a steadfast commitment to our mission. With years of experience in adult education, Katie has been a driving force in various IAACE initiatives, consistently demonstrating strong leadership and vision.
Konnie McCollum, Past President Having served as President, Konnie McCollum will continue to lend her expertise and guidance as Past President. Her tenure was marked by significant strides in our programs and strategic plan, and her ongoing involvement ensures continuity and support.
Caroline Foster, President-Elect Caroline Foster joins the executive team as President-Elect. Caroline’s dynamic approach and innovative ideas have already made a substantial impact within IAACE, and we look forward to her future contributions as she prepares to step into the presidency.
Dustin Bentz, Treasurer: As our Treasurer, Dustin Bentz brings a meticulous approach to managing our financial resources. His expertise ensures that IAACE’s funds are stewarded effectively, supporting our programs and strategic goals.
Deb Sherwood, Secretary Deb Sherwood will serve as Secretary, overseeing our records and ensuring effective communication across the board. Her attention to detail and organizational skills are invaluable assets to our team.
Board Members at Large:
Carol Bible Carol Bible is a new board member. She brings her vast experience and deep understanding of adult education. Her insights and strategic mindset are instrumental in guiding our initiatives.
Denise Esslinger Denise Esslinger is also a new board member. With her commitment to lifelong learning and advocacy, her perspective enriches our discussions and decisions, ensuring that we stay true to our mission. She will serve as Advocacy Committee Chair.
Maeve Warrick, a new board member, has a background of profound adult education contributions that reflect her dedication to creating positive change. We are fortunate to have her expertise on the board.
David Shepherd David Shepherd’s passion for education and community development makes him an excellent addition to our board. His fresh ideas and collaborative spirit will help drive our projects forward.
Shawn Hughes Shawn Hughes is serving his second year of his term and has a strong background in adult education. His dedication to enhancing adult learning opportunities is evident in his active engagement and innovative thinking.
Amy Richmund Amy Richmund’s involvement in adult education has been transformative. Her commitment to fostering educational opportunities for all adults aligns perfectly with IAACE’s goals. She is returning to finish a one-year term left open by Dustin moving to Treasurer.
Mike Thombleson Mike Thombleson continues to be a guiding force on our board. His extensive experience and leadership in various roles within IAACE make him an invaluable advisor and advocate for our community. He is returning to finish a one-year term left open by Caroline moving to President-Elect.
Tom Miller Tom Miller has a long history of service to IAACE. A former IAACE president and a current board member of the Indiana Literacy Association, Tom brings knowledge of our history and foundation of literacy education to the board.
Looking Ahead
The 2024-2025 board is poised to build on the foundation laid by previous leaders while bringing new energy and ideas to the forefront. We are excited about the future and confident that this team will drive IAACE to new heights, advocating for adult learners and promoting the importance of continuing education.
