Region 11 Success!

Vincennes University (VU) Evansville Adult Education (EVV AE Center) and Trinity United Methodist Church (Trinity UMC) in downtown Evansville (Vanderburgh County) have a unique partnership, the church agreed to allow the Adult Education program to move into the beautiful facility and offer all the adult education services in one convenient location. This transition was beginning prior to the pandemic and though it put the ribbon cutting on delay, the rest of the services have been in full swing since August.

The facility has three classrooms, an intake office, an office for each staff member, and a staff comprehensive center for storage and more plus a career clothing bank. The center also has a few common areas that include a meeting space, a huge room for testing, and a library.

The new space has allowed the entire intake process from orientation to instruction time to happen in one location and this “has allowed us to not lose students from dispersing them to multiple classroom locations.” said Lauren Bell, VU Director of Adult Education, “We are a class act program and now we have a class act space that will allow us to create more success stories.”

VU serves 12 counties in Region 7, 8, and 11.
