- Possess leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Are willing to commit time to board meetings and initiatives.
How to Nominate or Apply
The process to apply or nominate someone for the IAACE Board of Directors is simple:
- Visit the Application Page: Click here to access the nomination form.
- Complete the Form: Provide necessary details, including your experience, qualifications, and reasons for wanting to serve.
- Submit Before the Deadline: Ensure your application is submitted by February 27 for consideration.
What to Expect
It is anticipated that program organizations will provide some level of support in terms of time commitment and fiscal backing for their attendance at board meetings, the IAACE conference, and COABE 2026 in Indianapolis.
The Responsibilities of Being on the IAACE Board of Directors:
Attend Board Meetings – Participate in regular board meetings (typically held monthly) to discuss strategic planning, policies, and organizational initiatives. Travel and Compensation: The IAACE board meets virtually monthly and in person once per quarter. It is anticipated that board member organizations will provide some level of support in terms of time commitment and fiscal backing to attend board meetings and the IAACE conference. The board meetings are typically on the second Friday of each month. The tentative schedule for 2025-2026 is:

Support IAACE’s Mission – Advocate for adult education, promote IAACE initiatives and help expand the organization’s reach and impact.
Serve on Committees – Engage in at least one IAACE committee, such as Collaboration/engagement, Professional Development, and Advocacy, and participate in Conference Planning.
Assist with Events – Support and attend IAACE-sponsored events, including the annual conference, workshops, and networking opportunities.
Fundraising & Sponsorship – Help identify and secure funding opportunities, sponsorships, and partnerships that benefit IAACE and its members.
Engage with Membership – Represent and support IAACE members by gathering feedback, sharing resources, and fostering connections among educators and stakeholders.
Follow Governance & Compliance – Uphold IAACE’s bylaws and policies, ensuring ethical and transparent decision-making.
Board members serve a two-year term and play a critical role in shaping the future of adult education in Indiana.
