IAACE Celebrated Adult Education Day at the Indiana State House

Indianapolis, IN – The Indiana Association for Adult and Continuing Education (IAACE) successfully hosted its annual Adult Education Day on February 11, 2025, at the Indiana State House, bringing together adult learners, educators, business leaders, and policymakers to celebrate the power of lifelong learning.

The event featured inspiring remarks from Representative Michelle Davis, Senator Cyndi Carrasco, and Senate President Pro Tempore Rodric Bray, who emphasized the critical role of adult education in strengthening Indiana’s workforce and economy.

One of the most anticipated moments of the day was the recognition of the IAACE Adult Education Essay Contest winners, who shared powerful personal stories of perseverance and success under the theme “Expanded My Horizons.” Victoria Chavez (Wayne Township Adult Education) took first place, followed by Gabrielle Lydick (Wayne Township Adult Education) in second and Lincoln Morgan (The Literacy Alliance) in third. Their stories showcased the resilience and determination of adult learners across Indiana.

IAACE also honored business partners who have made significant contributions to adult education by supporting workplace learning initiatives and hiring adult learners. Their commitment to workforce development underscores the importance of collaboration between educators and employers.

IAACE thanks all attendees for their participation and support. The organization remains committed to advocating for policies and programs that expand access to adult education across Indiana.
