Board of Directors Nomination/Application is Open

Dear Colleague,

Words have power, wouldn’t you agree? Words can motivate, anger, hurt, or spur action. Words can cause different emotions, rally a cause, or give us hope. Words shape our beliefs, drive our behavior, and affect our thoughts and intentions. I want to share some powerful words with you. These words are intentional. These words were put together for clarity of purpose. These words were put together strategically to get to the point of who and what IAACE is and where we are growing. These words share with you that IAACE is focused, strategic, goal-oriented and is building a legacy for future leaders in Adult Education. Do I have your attention?

IAACE has a powerful mission statement: IAACE elevates lifelong learning and workforce development through professional development, collaboration, and advocacy.  WOW! 

Check out the vision statement: We equip our members with tools to build more robust programs, empower teachers, and inspire students. We strive for equity and respect for all. We champion the benefits of obtaining an education at any point in life. Double WOW! 

Add in our values, and this is the knockout punch: Collaborates with Indiana adult education stakeholders; communicates and promotes adult education; facilitates professional development; and supports members. This is a triple threat in terms of power! Our board has laid a firm foundation and vision of who we are! The words used are big, powerful words, put to paper with the idea of finding leaders to live up to these words. These words require action! 

Your action is requested; this is where you come into the picture. IAACE seeks new at-large board members, a Treasurer, and a President-Elect. You will find descriptions of these positions at //iaace.com/2024-board-nomination-application. IAACE is a membership-driven organization. We are only as strong as the members who serve on the board. For IAACE to fulfill the outlined mission statement, vision statement, and values, we need board and executive members willing to take up the mantle of commitment, dedication, and action. Are you up to the challenge of turning words into action?

We seek to fill these roles with energetic and enthusiastic members who aspire to grow in Adult Education. We seek members who view this as an excellent opportunity for leadership development and want to be a part of the driving force of a nationally recognized leader in Adult Education! Serve with a team that empowers, elevates, and educates on behalf of Indiana Adult Education!

The nomination committee will review all applications, and membership voting will open on April 3, 2024, and close on April 18, 2024.  Announcement of new board members will be at the Annual Meeting on May 3, 2024.
