Call for Proposals is Open

The IAACE Conference will be in-person at Blue Chip in Michigan City, Indiana. This year we celebrate our past and future with the theme, Fit at Forty: Forging the Future. The IAACE association was formed in 1983. We have learned many lessons, and our community is strong. To help our community continue its strength, we respectfully request proposals that show collaborations, strong ideas, and innovations. The following strands will be featured; we have included the strand leads:

1. Administrative/Local Program Mgt.-Rob Moore & Jerry Haffner
2. Adult Basic Education(ABE) (Literacy, Math, Writing)-Katie Walton & Sheila Butler
3. Corrections-Mike Thompson & Amber Finnegan
4. English Language Learning (ELL)- Brenda Gaston & Dinorah Sapp
5. HSE/HiSET/GED-Amy Richmund & Angela Reffo
6. Personal Development- Konnie McCollum, Amber Finnegan & Christine McConnell
7. Technology/Digital Skills-Karen Crawford & SheilaButler
8. Workforce Collaboration (WEI/IET)-Christine McConnell

The sessions are one hour long and may be workshop-style, interactive, lecture, panel, facilitated learning, or a combination of two. You may submit more than one proposal. The submission form will require the following; please prepare in a separate document.

Contact information: The Primary presenter’s name, email, mobile phone, organization name, title, position title and hours, mailing address

Photo: a color headshot of the primary presenter (jpg, tiff, or png). This is used in the platform conference program.

Bio: provide a biography on the lead presenter; you will be contacted for additional information on co-presenters if accepted

Experience as a Presenter: The last two presentations that you presented.

Title: a succinct title that describes in 10 words or less. Use appropriate capitalization.

Abstract: In 200-300 words, describe your session; this is the promotion piece for your session. Make sure it accurately reflects your session and how it will benefit participants.

Description: In 300-750 words, describe clearly what participants will learn and the content of your session. You may share your focus strand. You may also include the level of expertise needed.

Format and Technique: choose your primary method between workshop, interactive, lecture, facilitated learning, or panel discussion.

Select your preferred day and time: When are you at your best? We do our best to schedule on the day and time you request, but we can’t guarantee it.

Strand: Select the strand that fits your presentation best. We understand your session may have components of more than one.

Co-Presenters– It is Yes or No. You will be contacted for this information if your proposal is accepted and only if you choose yes. We don’t need to know who they are, just if you intend to have a co-presenter.

ESignature: You agree to receive emails and other marketing for the conference.

Consent Box: You agree to register for the conference and be responsible for all related costs.

 

What are the Review Criteria? Members of the Professional Development committee, along with strand leads and conference chairs, review based on the following criteria:

  • Quality of the presentation: consistency between the title, abstract, and description.
  • Measurable outcomes 
  • Innovation Evidence

All proposals are due by June 2. Notification of acceptances will be no later than July 14.
