Advocacy April, Adult Education Matters
IAACE has participated in Advocacy April by emailing our legislators, engaging in the Twitter storm, and encouraging members to be a part of the Adult Education Movement. What is the Adult Education movement? The simplest form is being a member of IAACE and sharing it with others in your program. When you build upon it from there, it is:
- Add #IAACE Member; I’m a part of the Adult Education Movement. Ask Me What I do for Adult Education to your email signatures, your social media bios
- Share on your social media of choice what you do for adult education
- Join the movement with your organizational logo
- Engaging in events during the year-
- Serve on an IAACE committee
- Sharing learners’ success stories
- Invite your legislators to your programs and have a meeting with them
- Graduation events are an excellent place for keynotes from them or handing out diplomas
- Sending Emails to your legislators
- Engage in the Twitter storm
- Market your program
- Start preparing now for Adult Education and Family Literacy Week, September 18-24, 2022
Will you be a part of the Adult Education Movement? It’s time to share our successes and advocate for full-time adult education.
Advocacy is calling attention to what is important to you. Advocacy never ends, be a part of the movement.
